This program enables youth throughout Canada, United States & the United Kingdom,
to learn about philanthropy and volunteerism in a meaningful way.
Participants are given the skills, knowledge and monetary resources
to support Social Service sector organizations in their communities.
Working with schools and school boards. YPI provides students with
the ability to study, research, visit, advocate and then competitively
apply for $5,000 grants to local Social Service organizations of
their choice. This remarkable program combines detailed teacher information
and curriculum, a support structure for educators and students and
the passion of young people yearning to make a difference.
Some YPI program highlights include:
· A valuable curriculum link for the program is provided
by way of the mandatory grade 10 Civics’ course.
·
A detailed teacher’s guide and suggested lesson plans which
allow for easy program incorporation and linkages to the
Ministry of Education curriculum guidelines.
· A full-time administrative support liaison to help ensure the success
of the program.
If a high school is interested
in bringing the program to their respective school, please contact
Diane Elliot at: info@toskancasale.org.
| Granting Guideline:
In order to qualify for a grant from the Toskan Casale Foundation's Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI), registered
Canadian charitable organizations must be working within the
social service sector. Within that sector, the project being
considered must provide a direct service to the community and/or
take an innovative approach to issue(s) within the community.
